ID Hospital

ID Hospital occupies a category of one in Korean plastic surgery: it is the only plastic surgery institution in the country certified as a full hospital by the Ministry of Health and Welfare (2016). While Gangnam has thousands of cosmetic clinics, ID Hospital operates with emergency capabilities, a blood bank, an ambulance, a self-power supply, and 20 Clean HEPA-filtered operating theaters — infrastructure that most clinics simply do not have.

The hospital’s foundation is facial bone surgery. Dr. Sang Hoon Park, an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who crossed into plastic surgery, performed Korea’s first orthognathic cosmetic procedure in 1995 — a full decade before the hospital opened. He invented the V-Line T-osteotomy square jaw surgery (registered with the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in 2007), developed the Surgery-First Approach that cuts orthognathic treatment from 2-3 years to under one year, and published the world’s first facial contouring surgery textbook in 2017.

Since opening in 2004 as a clinic and upgrading to hospital status in 2009, ID Hospital has performed 6,000+ facial contouring surgeries, approximately 3,000 two-jaw procedures, and treats patients from 55+ countries through its dedicated Global Center on floors 15-16 of the building. The hospital also houses a dental center (Invisalign Red Diamond Provider for five consecutive years), a dermatology annex, and its own skincare brand sold at Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue.
