Gangnam Severance Hospital is the Gangnam campus of the Yonsei University Health System — the same institution behind Severance Hospital (Sinchon), which traces its origins to 1885. Opened in 1983 as the Yongdong Severance Hospital and renamed in 2005, Gangnam Severance is a full-service university hospital with 824 beds, 26 clinical departments, and 32 specialized centers.
The hospital is particularly distinguished for its spine center — ranked #1 in Korea and widely considered the best in the country for complex spinal surgery.
