Seoul National University Bundang Hospital (SNUBH) opened on May 10, 2003 with a distinction no other hospital on Earth could claim: it was the world’s first fully digital hospital, operating with zero paper-based medical records from day one. Its proprietary BESTCare system has since been exported to 30+ hospitals in the United States, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
SNUBH operates 1,424 beds across 33+ clinical departments and 10+ specialized centers, affiliated with Seoul National University College of Medicine — Korea’s most prestigious medical school. The hospital provides the same faculty quality as the main SNU campus in central Seoul, but in a modern, purpose-built facility in the Bundang district, connected to Gangnam in approximately 15 minutes via the Shinbundang express line.
The hospital’s rise in global rankings has been remarkable: from #81 (2024) to #68 (2025) to #54 (2026) on Newsweek’s World’s Best Hospitals list.
